Lower Primary continues to work on the IPC Unit People of the past. They already learned about many different famous persons; The Green Hunter, Florence Nightingale, Edmund Hillary, Christopher Columbus, and Rembrandt van Rijn.
In our class, we like to link IPC with outdoor learning and every week the children go to the forest and their outdoor classroom. Last week they built Christopher Columbus’ ship out of branches. The children worked hard to collect many long sticks to create their boat around a dead tree. They made oars so they could row the Santa Maria if there was a lack of wind. The captain had a high position on the prow of the ship and a good view of the ocean and the new land. After the hard work, our shipbuilders had a well-deserved rest with a cup of tea.
