Our IPC and History lessons on Ancient Egypt have come to life through Drama, as students enthusiastically act out a play inspired by the Egyptian myth Isis and the Crown of Ra. In this story, Isis devises a clever and sneaky plan to take the mighty sun god Ra’s crown—and with it, his throne—so she can rule alongside Osiris. The students are having a fantastic time bringing this tale to the stage, adding humor and creativity to their performances. One of the most hilarious moments is the surprising revelation of Ra’s secret name—Bob! Yes, Bob. This unexpected twist has everyone laughing, making the play even more entertaining.
As we progress, the excitement builds with costumes and accessories, helping students truly embody their Egyptian roles. Dressing as gods and goddesses enhances their connection to the characters, making history even more engaging. This integration of Drama into our IPC lessons not only deepens their understanding of Ancient Egypt but also encourages teamwork, expression, and confidence. It’s a joy to see them fully immersed in learning while having so much fun!
