Upper Primary students have continued their fascinating exploration of inventions, diving into one of the most significant and impactful creations of all time—the wheel. Together, we analyzed the circumstances in which it was first invented and discussed how our ancient ancestors approached problem-solving. We discovered that time and time again, necessity truly was the mother of invention. Our learning journey then took us through early transportation inventions. We explored how ancient civilizations solved the challenge of moving heavy objects and examined the clever solutions they developed long before modern technology.
We ventured into the forest to take our learning beyond the classroom for a hands-on challenge! Just like ancient people, students had to rely on the materials nature provided to design and build their own transporting tools. Working in teams, they created simple carriers, travois, and other inventive solutions—proving that creativity and resourcefulness can lead to incredible results. Here, you can see the start of this exciting project and the first basic transporting tools designed by our students.
What an amazing opportunity to put history into practice and experience the true spirit of invention!
